The KA-BAR model #1214 offers a oval shaped non-slip Kraton G elastomer handle for excellent hand control during use. The epoxy powder coated, high carbon steel 1095 blade has a HRC 56-58 hardness rating. The full 7" blade is sharpened to 20 / 20 degrees with buff polished edges. Powdered metal butt caps, carbon steel guards, are both powder coated. Knife comes in a non-reflective all black finish and has a partially serrated edge section providing extra cutting power when dealing with tough materials such as rope. This model comes with the KA-BAR / SGF sheath constructed of a tough reinforced glass filled nylon which is resistant to salt water and provides a hard surface which protects during rough use in harsh terrains. Sheath offers multiple tie-down ports allowing for several mounting positions.
